The Senior championship (Junior section) got underway on Sunday in Brocagh. Last year’s Junior champions Éire Óg had to travel and play the home side. It was an even start to the game before Éire Óg took an early lead with a point but they were pegged back when Brocagh scored a great goal shortly after. It was a lead that was short lived as the visitors were able to take their scores with some clinical finishing. The tone of the game never really changed as Éire Óg always looked composed in front of goals. In the end it was a comfortable win with a score line of Brocagh 2-4 to Éire Óg 9-7. The winners will now meet Edendork in the semi-final on 31st July with Naomh Treasa of Dungannon playing Father Shields of Greencastle in the other semi-final.

The next Go Games Blitz will be held in Derrytresk on Saturday 27th July. There will be registration at 9:30am with a start at 10:00am. All clubs are asked to contact Deirdre Fitzgerald and notify her of the number of teams that will be represented in the u10, u8, and u6 category by email on runai.tyronecamogie@yahoo.co.uk.

The Michaela Foundation ran their annual summer camp in Tyrone last week in St Malachy’s Primary School Glencull. As part of the week there was a complete day dedicated to camogie. Naomh Treasa Camogie Club Dungannon took the sessions which involved showing the camp participants the basics of camogie. The sessions were well received by everyone and a massive thanks to all at the Foundation for making the day such a pleasant one for those involved.

The under 14 league will see Éire Óg travel to Derrylaughan and Moortown will host Eglish on Monday 22nd July.

Dungannon were Tyrone’s representatives in the All-Ireland Féile in Limerick at the end of the first week in July. The team acquitted themselves well in a very strong division that saw Raharney of Westmeath go on from that division and take the Féile title. The club would like to thank all who helped make the event a special one and also would also like to thank their hosts for the three days in Limerick, Ballingarry Camogie Club, for their hospitality.
