FT Tyrone 7.5 Donegal 0.2

Tyrone travelled to the scenic Naomh Padraig GAA grounds in Muff to play Donegal in the next round of the All Ireland U16 championship. This rescheduled game took place after weather conditions caused the original fixture at the beginning of March to be postponed. A strong wind at the time of the match which took place beside Lough Foyle added to the contest. Donegal started well but the Tyrone girls responded and adapted with a good range of players scoring over the hour. A good contest between two determined sides.

Next match for Tyrone in the round robin series will be against Wicklow in the coming weeks.

This was the second match this week for this Tyrone U16 squad who competed in the second round of the Ulster U16 championship on Wednesday evening. Played at Monaghan CoE grounds at Cloghan under floodlights, the Tyrone girls scored consistently over the hour to defeat a brave Monaghan side. Two wins from two games in this Ulster competition puts Tyrone through to the Ulster final currently scheduled for Saturday 11 April.
