There were wins for Owen Roes and Moortown in two rearranged games in Division 2 on Monday evening. Owen Roes laid the foundations for their victory at Cookstown in the first half when points from Cathal McShane, Conor O’Neill and Conall McCormack saw them establish a 0-8 to 0-1 interval lead.

The Father Rocks staged an early revival in the second half with points from Luke Neeson and Conall Sheehy but they then conceded a Ronan McNulty goal and the visitors never looked back. Midfielder Tony Devine then helped himself to a brace of goals and despite the accuracy of Callan Kelly for the hosts it finished 3-13 to 0-13.

Moortown put their recent run of poor results behind them with a 1-8 to 0-7 win at home to Naomh Eoghan. The hosts led 0-3 to 0-1  at the end of a low scoring first half with Liam Lawn and Brian McLernon among their points, Conor Langan the sole marksman for the visitors.

In the second half Lawn, McLernon and Rian Smith exchanged points with Conor Traynor, Brendan Boyle and Niall McSorley with Mattie Conlon’s goal proving to be the crucial score.
