The All-Ireland club handball championships will be staged in Galway over the first weekend in December, with all four national competitions played to a finish, and Tyrone will be represented in the four categories.
Carrickmore will fly the flag for Tyrone in the open club championship, Brackey will represent the county in the intermediate division, and there will be play-offs this week to decide who will go forward from Tyrone to take part in the All-Ireland junior and junior b club championships.
Loughmacrory and Brackey will meet in Carrickmore on Wednesday night at 7.30pm to determine who will be the county’s representatives in junior, and Carrickmore and Loughmacrory will go head to head on Tuesday night in Beragh (8.30pm) to see who travels to Galway to take part in the junior b competition.
Meanwhile, the Tyrone adult handball championships will commence on the weekend of 7/8/9th December and the final deadline for all entries is 1st December. The four competitions are open singles, masters singles, b singles and c singles, and all four categories will be played off over two weekends in December, before concluding on the first weekend of January with a finals weekend.
The adult doubles competitions are pencilled in for the weekend of 11/12/13th January. A £10 entry fee covers both singles and doubles – all players are asked to go to your club secretary by 1st December in order to get entered.
The county underage championships will take place on the last two weekends of January, beginning 18/19/20th January, and then concluding on the first weekend of February. The deadline for all entries is 4th January.
Finally, the closing date for entry to the Ulster championships is also fast approaching. The provincial competitions will start before the end of January, and all entries must be with your club secretary as early as 1st December, the same deadline as the county championships.
The Tyrone Development squad training is due to begin on Saturday 8th December and clubs must nominate players as soon as possible.
Finally, the Tyrone handball AGM is scheduled to take place on Thursday 6th December in Beragh at 8.30pm.
