Senior champions St Macartan’s crashed out of the senior championship in the opening preliminary round against a well organised Dungannon who had to survive a second half fightback spearheaded by Chloe Mc Caffrey.
By the time Mc Caffrey entered the game the Clarkes led by five points, a brace of first half goals coming from Aine Mc Nulty setting them on their way. Faye Loughran, Beth Jones, Aoife McGahan and Hanna Cavlan were among their points as they led 2-5 to 0-6 at the break.
Slaine Mc Carroll and veteran Cathy Maguire points had been important for the Mac’s while McCaffrey, Maguire, Colleen McQuaid and McCarroll points through the second half closed the gap. Solid defending by the Clarkes though ensured the champions exit with the final score Dungannon 2-8 St Macartans 0-13.
At Dunmoyle there was never any doubt about the outcome as Aofe Horisk hit 1-5 as Errigal Ciaran eased to a big win against a youthful Omagh. Missing Aine Strain and Cara Mc Crossan the St Enda’s struggled from the off and trailed 3-8 to 0-5 by the break.
Horisk, Kelly Mc Caffrey and Claire Canavan hit goals for the winners while only on the odd  occasion did Omagh threaten. Christiane Quinn, Eimer Cunningham, Eimer Mc Canny, Maeve Mc Sorley and at the back Louise Moynagh and Tori Mc Mullan put pressure on the hosts in what was an overall  disappointing night for them as Errigal had fifteen points to spare at the end.
Errigal Ciaran 4-12 Omagh St Enda’s 1-6.
Coalisland are safely through to the quarter finals as they beat Fr Rocks 4-14 to 1-7.
In the intermediate championship there were no surprises as Aghyaran, Clonoe and Moy all advanced. Emma Mc Crory hit 2-4 and in a packed goalmouth Maria Mc Hugh turned in a goal as the St Davogs eased to a big win over Fintona.
Despite hitting four goals against Clonoe it was the O’Rahillys who edged to a three point win over Dromore with Orlagh Gavin yet again top scoring with 0-9. Aine O’Hagan bagged a goal and Aimee Hughes also hit 0-3.
And it was three a point win for Moy who got over the line against Beragh. The Red Knights led by a point at the break Eimear O’Callaghans goal bringing Moy back into the contest with a minute remaining. Goals from Zara Montique and Aoife Mc Williams had kept Beragh ahead  but it was Moy who fought back and pressed on. Lucy Mc Alary, Emma Conroy and Amy Holmes among the key scores in the end.
Strabane had little trouble rolling over Pomeroy. Michaella Moss top scored with 3-4, Shelly Twohig tagged on 2-2 and veteran Tori Mc Elrot was on target with five points in a one sided contest as Rock had a point to spare in a tense contest with Stewartstown.
With Drumragh edging another tense encounter at Clanabogan Park against Donaghmore 1-12 to 2-8 in the last of the weekend action.
Trillick were well beaten by Carrickmore with the winners dominating throughout. Carrickmore led 3-4 to 0-2 at the break and went on to win 5-11 to 2-3.

Trillick scorers:  Tori McGovern – 1.2 (1 pen), Niamh mc Nulty – 1.0, Naomi Hannigan – 0-1.
