Tyrone senior lady footballers and the senior camogie side were out at the weekend. The footballers faced an understrength Armagh team in the championship while the Camogie side took on Cavan in the Ulster Intermediate final.
A Maeve Maxwell goal and points from Niamh O’Neill, Katie Rose Muldoon and Aoife Quinn helped put Tyrone five clear. Quinn came close to extending the lead late in the half when she broke through and forced a fine stop by Armagh keeper Brianna Mathers. Armagh scored a rather fortuitous two pointer just before the break to reduce the deficit to three at the short whistle.
The second half saw scores hard to come by for both sides before Meabh Mallon kicked a point for the Red Hands. The sides continued to battle hard swapping points as the game entered the final quarter.

Defences remained on top but as the match clock ticked down towards the closing minutes Australia bound Aoife Horisk rounded off the scoring for Tyrone (1-10) and the focus now will be very much on the upcoming Ulster Championship final.
The senior camogie side made the short run to Breffni Park in Cavan to lock horns with the locals in the final of the Ulster Intermediate Camogie Championship,
Tyrone began well and with Lara Devlin and Reagan Fay in fine form were soon four clear. The Red Hands looked sharp all over the pitch but in fairness to the Breffni girls they were just beginning to get to the pace of the game.
Scores from Orla Flynn, Roisin O’Keefe, and wing back Aideen Coyle left a point between the teams but the teams swapped scores as Shanise Fitzsimons began to make her presence felt. Aine Cunningham pointed for the Red Hands but Fitzsimons was warming to the challenge and added a further goal and a point with the clock counting down to half time. Cavan thought they had added a second goal on the stroke of half time but referee Janet Mc Cauley ruled it out due to an illegal hand pass.

The second half saw Cavan very much on top. Wing forward Eimear Brady was unerring from placed balls while Fitzsimons proved herself yo be a handful for the Tyrone defence. Cavan outscored Tyrone in the second half and in truth could have won by more but this young Tyrone squad deserve credit for the way they competed right to the end.
final score : Cavan 1-15 Tyrone 1-10
