Emer Cunningham scored 1-8 as Omagh pressed Errigal Ciaran all the way in their league opener at St Patrick’s Park however a late 1-1 from Rebecca Quinn ensured a four point win for last year’s league winners.

A high scoring contest that had Errigal eight clear in the second half produced some excellent football from both sides, the youthful Omagh putting in a very creditable performance despite missing several key players on the night. Aoife Horisk was outstanding for the winners with  Quinn and Clare Canavan eventually steering the visitors to the win.

Errigal did lead by a point at the break with Horisk getting an Errigal goal with Clodagh Mc Canny on target for the hosts. Errigal pulled away , Canavan with a brace of goals and Eimear Corrigan’s goal putting them eight points clear.

Emer Cunningham goaled from a free kick, Shauna Mc Crory spun away to turn in a goal of her own and a well taken solo goal from a returning  Cara Mc Crossan helped Omagh level with four minutes remaining. Quinn’s 1-1 though ensured an away win for Errigal . Louise Moynagh, Aine Cunningham,  Cliona O’Reilly and Emer Cunningham were in good form for Omagh.
