Victories For Gortin And Brockagh In Saturday’s Playoff Games.
Saturday 29.10.2011

It is twenty minutes gone in the division three play off game between Drumragh and Brockagh and the travelling team will feel so far so good as they lead 2-01 to 0-05 after goals from Murphy and Cleary. The game reaches the break with Drumragh still ahead but only just 2-01 to 0-06.
Brockagh are playing with the breeze in the second half and within five minutes of the restart have turned the game around and now lead 0-09 to 2-01. The Sarsfields face a tough second half.
With eleven minutes plus stoppage time left there is no change in the score at Brockagh but Drumragh have missed several very good chances of scores.
Into injury time and Brockagh still lead by two as Drumragh got their first score of the half through Marty Taggart. 0-10, 2-02. and that is how it finished as Drumragh’s long season finally comes to an end. They will look back on today as a series of missed chances while for Brockagh they will look forward to facing Dungannon in the last Division Three playoff with the winners of that game facing Strabane in the final playoff of the season.
Meanwhile up at Gortacladdy it looks like Gortin could well make the last stage of the play offs as they lead at the break 1-06 to 0-02 with Kevin Mossey scorer in chief with 0-05 to his name. Brian Mc Garvey landed a goal for his side with a wind assisted shot but Gortin could have been in a n even more comfortable position had full forward Diarmuid Mc Nulty converted any one of the three great chances of goals he had. Galbally’s two points on a very disappointing first half showing were Paul Rafferty and Declan Murphy.
Second half is ten minutes old at Kildress and any signs of a Galbally comeback have yet to materialise. The only score of the second half so far has come from Gavin Treanor of Gortin as they look comfortable leading 1-07 to 0-02.
Gortin continue to look the better side and into the final quarter they lead comfortably 1-09 to 0-02 with their scores coming from Gavin Treanor again and midfielder Niall Mc Ginn.
with just over five minutes left at Kildress the situation has improved slightly for Galbally with Micky Murphy doubling their total for the day but Kevin Mossey showed all his class to restore his team’s ten point lead. It is now 1-11 to 0-04 and barring a miracle Gortin are through to the playoff final.
Micky Murphy is moved into full forward and he scores 1-04 for his side as the game finished 1-11 to 1-06 in favour of Gortin with Kevin Mossey finishing top scorer for them with 0-07.
