The planned county senior friendly against Armagh on Sunday unfortunately had to be cancelled. The team however trained in Garvaghey with the weeks counting down towards the first National League fixture. There will be a possible change of date for the Cavan game which was scheduled for March 16th. It may be moved to Sunday March 30th with both counties having agreed a date change is more suited to both teams. The county is awaiting clearance from the National Fixtures committee. The gradings and entries for the 2014 AIB club championships were released on Friday by the Camogie Association. Tyrone has the same grading as last year and they will have entry into the All Ireland Intermediate championship section which will be the winner of our county senior championship final. Also we will have entry into the All Ireland Junior section which will be the winner our county Intermediate championship final.
Ciaran Kearney from Ulster Camogie Council has confirmed that 34 Ulster Camogie Clubs will be hosting families for the All Ireland Féile. There are two Tyrone clubs, Éire Óg of Carrickmore and Eglish that are on the selection list of host clubs. If there are any other clubs who still haven’t been listed to host families and would like to do so they must let Ciaran know of their intentions by Wednesday 12th February. If clubs have any further questions in relation to hosting out families within their clubs or any other Féile related queries they are asked to contact Ciaran as soon as possible. The date for the Ulster GAA Féile is Saturday 3rd May with the finals being on Sunday 4th.
There are still vacancies for executive officers on the board of the Ulster Camogie Council. They are Assistant Secretary, Assistant Treasurer, PRO and Development Officer. If anyone is interested in filling a position then they are asked to contact the county secretary before Monday 17th February.
There will be a county board meeting in Quinn’s Corner on Tuesday evening at 7:15pm. It is important that all clubs have adequate representation at this meeting. The club championships will be discussed and the draws will take place. All league fixtures will be released to clubs for the coming year.
