League Title Decider Won By Cookstown
Monday 18.08.2025
The Division 3A league decider took place on Sunday with Clogher hosting Cookstown in a winner takes all game. The small matter of a league title and promotion to Division Two was on offer for the winners so it was no wonder that a large and expectant crowd paid in to watch what was effectively a league title decider.

Exchanges were tough and competitive from the off but Cookstown always managed to stay ahead in spite of the best efforts of the Clogher men. The Fr Rocks restricted their opponents to five points in the first half and their defensive discipline was a key factor in enabling them to ride out a late Clogher storm and take the win on a final score of 1-17 to 1-14 in Cookstown’s favour.

In the remaining Junior league games there were wins for Eskra, Glenelly and Drumragh. Lorcan Mc Cullagh top scored for Glenelly in their 2-14 to 1-10 win over Castlederg while Rory Kennedy (3), Cathal O’Neill (2) and Ronan O’Kane (2) also got among the points.
On a day when they received the Division 3 Reserve League trophy Drumragh had a comfortable 2-19 to 1-13 win over hosts Strabane. Oran White top scored for Strabane with 1-4 while Oran Mc Grath (4), Conal Crawford (4) and Haydn Mc Namee (1) accounted for the remainder of their scores.
Eskra enjoyed a comfortable win against an understrength Augher side on a final score of 3-22 to 1-9. Conor O’Hagan top scored for Eskra with 0-9 while their goals came from the very impressive Cormac Hughes, Daire Mc Carroll and Rory Kinsella. Eoin Mc Caffrey, Eoin Mc Kenna and Finn Kelly stood out for the winners. On a disappointing day for Augher Ciaran Treanor got an early goal but they missed at least five one on ones that could have made a huge difference to the game. Others to impress on the day were Dara Donnelly, Martin Mc Elhatton, Darragh Kavanagh and midfield pairing of Rory Cassidy and Aodhan Colton.
