League Title Win For Omagh Minors
Wednesday 25.06.2025
Omagh St Enda’s 3-11
Kildress Wolfe Tones 2-3
Omagh collected a third league title in a row at Loughmacrory on Tuesday after an eleven point win over Kildress in the final.
A confident Omagh defence kept a close watch on the Tones attack while their forward line caused all sorts of problems for the Kildress defence.
St Enda’s dominated throughout hitting the crossbar twice, squandered numerous chances but were deserving winners at the end.
Omagh settled well but failed to make the most of their possession. Emer Cunningham, Erin Teague, midfielder Beth Gallogy and Emma Mc Crossan all found the target. Mc Crossan and Owens Duddy crashed their goal bound efforts off the crossbar early on. Cunningham went close for goal on more than one occasion and the St Enda’s missed frees all with Kildress struggling to clear their lines.
On the rare occasions when the Tones did threaten the Omagh goal Jodie Mc Crory, Leah Loughran and Aideen Corey looked assured and composed. the most Goalkeeper Anna Harper cleared a goal chance from Mc Crory as Kildress struggled for scores.

The second quarter saw further Omagh scores courtesy of Mc Crossan and Cunningham before Cunningham put Omagh six clear with a well worked point. Cliona O’Reilly, Mc Crossan and Eimear Mc Ginn kept the pressure on the Kildress defence before a Cunningham pass reached Ella Rose Quinn’s goal and was finished to the net Owens Duddy. Clodagh Mc Canny set up Eimear Mc Ginn for a point as Owens Duddy worked in a goal from the right on half time.
Cunningham went close on the restart but took a while to find their groove. In between times Mc Crory worked in a first Kildress score when she bagged a goal as the Tone’s showed greater attacking intent.
Aine Mc Cullagh and Mia Muldoon pressed the Omagh rear guard without success. A brace of Mc Canny points pushed Omagh a dozen clear.
As they continued to miss goal chances Mc Crory tagged on two points at the other end and after another Omagh point Mc Crory dropped in an opportune goal for Kildress with ten minutes left. After Mc Canny talked herself into a yellow card Mc Crory dropped over a free to leave seven points between the teams but it was proving hard to create chances against a well drilled Omagh defence.

Mc Mullan was ably supported by Orlaith Leonard, Ava Falconer and Una Mc Crory who were tireless and determined throughout. Owens Duddy pointed from the right before capping an outstanding display with a second and closing goal at the end, running the length of the field holding off the Kildress defence to slot the ball home.
Next up for Omagh the possibility of a championship and league double as they face Cookstown, Fr Rocks.
