Dromore Lift the Double

Final Score – Dromore 0-11 Carrickmore 0-6 – Cathal O’Hagan finally got the game underway again after sending off Gabriel McCallan and Plunkett McCallan. Dromore are the 2011 ACL Champions! The scenes towards the end of the game were very, very disappointing from any point of view.

58 mins – A bit of a mess in Dunmoyle at the minute. Players and supporters involved in fighting. Not pleasant viewing!
54 mins – Niall Sludden has put Dromore four clear. That’s 0-4 from play for Sludden. Dromore now look certain to lift another league title.
51 mins – Dromore move three clear. Midfielder Sean McDonnell lands another point for Dromore as they focus in on the double.
46 mins – Dromore go into overdrive. They slot four in the last seven minutes thanks to two Niall Sludden points and a piece of pure class from Eoin McCusker from out near the sideline. Kevin McNally gets one back for Carrickmore. Dromore 0-8 Carrickmore 0-6
39 mins – Carrickmore and Dromore share another two points. One from Kevin McNally to put Carmen 0-5 to 0-3 up and then a wonderful Eoin McCusker point from out on the left to reduce the lead to one. Dromore 0-4 Carrickmore 0-5
34 mins gone – Carrickmore have made an excellent start to the second half. They’ve opened up with two points. Benny Martin and Finbar Magill have been on target for Carmen as they slip into the lead. Dromore 0-3 Carrickmore 0-4
Half time whistle and guess what. It’s still 0-3 to 0-2. Carrickmore head into the changing rooms and the players look slightly despondent. Carrickmore had the wind at their back in the first half but they couldn’t make it count.
25 mins gone. Still 0-3 to 0-2 in favour of Dromore. A story of tight defenses and little or no clear cut opportunity for easy scores.
17 mins away and Dromore are 0-3 to 0-2 ahead. Benny Martin leveled the scores up at a point each before Kevin McNally put Carmen a point up. Colm McCullagh and Eoin McCusker have both added points for Dromore to put them back in control.
6 mins gone – Dromore playing into a stiff breeze are a point up thanks to a point from Niall Sludden. The game started nearly ten minutes late.
Carrickmore will be keen to get their hands on the Division 1 League trophy following a very impressive league campaign in which they have lost only one game and finished top of the table.
