Errigal Ciaran Crowned Senior Champions!!

It’s all over Errigal Ciaran win 0-13 to 0-8. They have won their seventh O’Neill cup and the first since 2006. They take on the Cavan champions in a fortnight.

One or two skirmishes breaking out around the field. Cathal McCarron receives a straight red card.

58 min – Peter Ward was miles off his line with Daisy McDermot running free. Fabian O’Neill had no choice but to pull him down. Yellow card and a point from Tommy Canavan. Cormac McGinley add another point from play. It’s Errigal’s day. Dromore 0-8 Errigal 0-13

56 min – Daisy McDermot kicks another point for Errigal. The ball broke to him and he quickly turned to fire over the point. Errigal now three up. Dromore 0-8 Errigal 0-11

55 min – Errigal lead down to two. Eoin McCusker kicks a free for Dromore from the 13 metre line. Dromore 0-8 Errigal 0-10

Ronan McRory extends Errigal Ciaran’s lead out to two point. A fisted point win a goal looked like it was on. Brian Horisk kicks another point seconds later. That’s five in a row for Errigal. Dromore 0-7 Errigal 0-10 with seven minutes to go.

Just over ten minutes to go and Davy Harte puts Errigal Ciaran in front. Lovely scores from out on the right. Dromore 0-7 Errigal 0-8

47 min – Bad mistake from Peter Ward gifts Errigal an easy free but Damian Daisy McDermot kicks it wide. Dromore 0-7 Errigal 0-7

41 min – Peter Harte runs through the middle of the Dromore defense and levels the scores at 0-7 apiece.

40 min – Tommy Canavan stops the rot. A nice point from play from 30 metres. Dromore 0-7 Errigal 0-6

38 min – Dromore pull two clear. Colm McCullagh kicks a point off the left boot after combining well with Ronan McNabb. Dromore 0-7 Errigal 0-5

37 min – Dromore back in front with a free from McCusker. Dromore 0-6 Errigal 0-5

Powerhouse of a run from Cathal McCarron and a point. It’s all square in Omagh after 35 minutes. Dromore 0-5 Errigal 0-5 Conor O’Neill replaces Paddy Montague.

Errigal now only lead by a point. Eoin McCusker slots a free for Dromore. Dromore 0-4 Errigal 0-5

Second half up and running.

Half time Dromore 0-3 Errigal Ciaran 0-5. The champions Dromore are under a lot of pressure.

30 min -Niall Sludden breaks down the right hand side and fires over a point to reduce the Errigal lead to two points.

28 min – Errigal winning the big battles all over the field at the minute. Aidan McCrory turns over Eoin McCusker and Enda McGinley blocks down Colm McCullagh.

26 min – Errigal Ciaran move two points clear. Tommy Canavan slots a free and then Michael McRory pops up from full back to kick a point. Dromore 0-2 Errigal 0-5

23 min – Errigal take the lead for the first time. Big point from Caolan Tierney from 40 metres. Dromore 0-2 Errigal 0-3

20 min – Cormac McGinley kicks Errigal’s second wide. That’s two each for both teams and 0-2 each on the scoreboard.

17 min – Yellow card for Caolan Tierney who started for Errigal.

13 min – Brian Horisk answers that score with a huge point for Errigal. Very open game so far.

12 min – Sean McDonnell slots a long range point. Dromore move a point clear. Dromore 0-2 Errigal 0-1

Ronan McCrory levels the score after 11 mins. Nice neat point. Sides all square.

Two wides for Dromore. Some huge hits on both sets of players so far. Still Dromore 0-1 Errigal 0-0 after 10 mins.

Ryan McMenamin opens the scoring for Dromore. Gread point from wide out on the right. Brilliant start for Dromore.

Game on.  Dromore playing twoards the Gortin Road end.
