Loughmacrory are back in senior football but only after a difficult and extended run through the tortuous route of the playoffs.

A few weeks ago they travelled to Beragh for their final league match knowing a win would secure a place in Division One for 2020. They were undone by a late Red Knights goal that saw Pomeroy leapfrog Loughmacrory and secure automatic promotion back to senior football.

A shell shocked Loughmacrory side had to pick themselves up and take on Owen Roes last weekend for the right to face Eglish in the final game of the season. After a titanic battle a single point was all that separated the teams but this time it was the Loch who were on the right end of the result.

Next up was the winner takes all clash with the Division One Playoff winners Eglish. After a tough hour’s football at Killeeshil on Saturday it was the Loch who prevailed once more on a score line of 0-12 to 0-6 to secure their place in senior football for next year after an absence of ten years.

Loughmacrory started well and at one stage led 0-5 to 0-1 but they then struggled to get scores for almost twenty five minutes. However they finished the second half strongly to record a double scores 0-12 to 0-6 win and secure senior status for next season with Aodhan Donaghy, Eoin Mullin and Shane Dobbs particularly outstanding. Pauric Meenagh top scored with 0-4 while Cathaoir and Diarmaid Gallagher both bagged a brace of points for the winners.

Peter Mc Cann was scorer in chief for a disappointing Eglish with 0-3 while Kevin Muldoon, Ethan Jordan and Caolan Daly accounted for their remaining scores.

Final score Loughmacrory 0-12, Eglish 0-6.
