The girls of Loreto Convent in Omagh will make the long journey south to Kinnegad on Saturday morning where they will face Munster opposition in the All Ireland Colleges under 20 final. The Omagh girls have been in this position before and will hopefully be able to draw on their experience of the big occasion in their quest for victory. Standing between them and the title will be Colaiste Ide agus Iosef from Limerick who defeated St Leo’s Carlow in a very tight semi final.
Loreto have plenty of quality and experience to call upon with county senior player Tori Mc Laughlin, Colleen Mc Quaid and Aideen Traynor in defence leading by example while Emma Collins and Fionnuala Conwell provide the drive and energy needed around the centre of the field. Up front Niamh O’Neill, Teri Mc Cusker, Eva Hicks, Kerrie Mc Garvey, Ciara Mc Mahon and Nichola Donnelly are capable of getting the scores for the side and bringing the title back to Tyrone.
We will follow their progress on Saturday and hopefully bring live updates from the game which gets under way at 2:00 pm The girls will be hoping the new “Murphy’s Gloves” they recently received through Lakeland Sports in the town will give them the edge and help carry them to victory.
