Loughmacrory Secure Valuable Win
Sunday 29.07.2012
Loughmacrory’s chances of avoiding a relegation battle got a huge shot in the arm today when they travelled to Derrytresk and came away with a four point win. The Loch played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half but reached the break only a point ahead 0-6 to 0-5 with the home team’s scores coming from Sean Slater, Micky Rea, Mickey Robinson and Niall Gavin. In a nervy display by the visitors they were thankful for the accuracy of Enda and Ronan Ward who were responsible for five of their side’s six first half points. Both sides struggled to cope with the difficult conditions and the game was littered with mistakes. Five minutes in to the second half and a Niall Grimes goal put Loughmacrory four ahead. They maintained the lead until the end and although Niall Gavin hit the net in injury time for Derrytresk it made no difference to the result and the visitors went home delighted with their two points. Final score Loughmacrory 1-11, Derrytresk 1-7
