Macartans Lose Narrowly To Termon

St. Macartans travelled to Donegal on Sunday hoping to get the better of Termon in the Ulster Club series but lost narrowly after a tough hour’s football.

Donegal star Geraldine Mc Laughlin opened the scoring with a fine point and followed that up with a goal for her team. However goals from Chloe Mc Caffrey and Colleen Mc Quaid helped send Macartans in at the break leading 2-1 to 1-3.

Macartans started the second half well with early points from Colleen Mc Quaid, Chloe Mc Caffrey and Slaine Mc Carroll to move four clear. Unfortunately they failed to score for the next twenty minutes and Termon added four points of their own to tie the game. Bridget Gallagher hit one of the four points while Geraldine McLaughlin landed the other three.

Paula Donnelly eventually halted Macs’ barren run with a point on twenty six minutes to edge her team in front. Sadly with time running out Slaine Mc Carroll was sin binned and Mc Laughlin hit two points to win the game for Termon by the narrowest of margins.
Final score: Macartans 2-5, Termon 1-12
