Macartans Win League Decider

St Macartans made up for losing their championship title by winning the Division One League title following a narrow win over Carrickmore this evening at Greencastle. The game ended 2-3 to 2-2 in favour of the Clogher Valley side. It was a close and low scoring affair that saw Carrickmore come agonisingly close to snatching a draw when star forward Gemma Begley missed a very scorable late free. Macartans goals came from Shauna Mc Quaid and from a late but well taken Mary Louise Mc Girr penalty with Cathy Donnelly (0-2) and Colleen Mc Quaid (0-1) getting the winners points. Maura Mc Menamin and Colleen Mc Quaid were the stand out players for the new league champions.
