MacRory Cup Set to Start

This week sees the commencement of the Mac Rory Cup the blue riband event for Ulster Colleges.  With Tyrone having won the All Ireland Minor title in September many of those players will feature prominently on the St. Patrick’s Dungannon and Omagh CBS sides for this season. Most pundits are tipping Dungannon to be there or thereabouts when the colleges season reaches decision time and I would be inclined to concur with that view. However with John Mc Cullagh and Ronan O’Neill lining out with Omagh I would not write off their chances just yet. Perhaps we might even have a repeat of the all Tyrone final of a few years ago and that would be further evidence, if any were needed of the healthy state of underage and schools football within the county.
