Friday 17.05.2024
The Martin O’Farrell competition concluded today with the shield and cup finals taking place at St Patrick’s Academy.
The competition started out with 24 teams competing in regional blitz to decide if you would play in the cup, shield or plate competition. The shield final today between St Patrick’s Armagh and St Patrick’s Acadmey Dungannon took extra time to determine a winner with the academy coming up victorious with a late Jake Mulligan goal to a very gallant St Patrick’s Armagh team. The Academy had some strong performances in defence from Ben McElvaney and Brendan Quinn, midfield for the Academy was Charlie Hughes and Jake Mulligan who played a pivotal role in transition from defence to attack for the Tyrone side in attack Charlie Conroy and Ryan McWilliams had great games.
The competition is in its second year organised by St Patrick’s Academy named after former Member of staff and coach Martin O’Farrell.
