Tyrone Masters marked the opening of the new pavilion at Pairc Chormaic on Saturday evening with a very convincing win over neighbours Armagh. The Red Hands were in fine form from the start and with Stephen O’Neill and Niall Gormley they built up an early lead before Mickey Anderson stretched the lead to four.
Armagh registered their first score of the game but Tyrone responded with a fine score from Gary Coney and further points from Martin Grimes, O’Neill, Anderson, Donal Mc Anallen, Damien Kelly, Eoin Bradley, Gormley, Barry Collins and Damian Mc Devitt to leave the half time score 0-15 to 0-1 in favour of Tyrone.
Armagh improved in the second half but the experience and quality of Tyrone ensured there would be no route back for the Orchard men. Cathal Nicholas got a goal and a brace off Niall Gormley points and a Micky Anderson score made it a seventeen point game before Armagh got their second point of the match. Karol Mc Quaid and Micky Anderson added points before Shane Mallon scored and Tyrone eased to victory.
