Tyrone travelled to Kildallan GAA  Ballyconnel on Saturday in their first game of Masters season.Cavan started the brighter and went ahead 1-2 to no score, the goal coming from former Meath player Joe Sheridan.Tyrone opened their account with an Anderson free but Cavan went further ahead with 2 more points with Keith Fannin to the fore for the home side.Tyrone got a foothold in the game thereafter with a well worked goal finished in style by wing back Gary Coney followed by a Warner Mullan 45 and points from Anderson and a long range one from Conor Gormley.Cavan finished the scoring for the half from Fannin again leaving them leading by a point at halftime.

Tyrone opened the scoring in the 2nd half through Anderson and Barry Daly registered a point inbetween 2 cavan points from Fannin and Sheridan.Gormley foraged up the field to equalise the game but Tyrone couldn’t forge ahead with a number of missed opportunities that would cost them in the end.Cavan hit two in a row to assert control going into the dying minutes of the game.Tyrone responded with an Anderson free but it was to be their last score and came away with a one point defeat against a spirited Cavan team well represented by Sheridan,Fannin and former Cavan player Mark mc Keever.

Disappointing start for the Red hands who will aim to bounce back in 2 weeks time v Donegal.A must win game at this early stage of the campaign
