Tyrone travelled to St Brigids in Roscommon on Saturday for their playoff game against Cork and came away with a win on a scoreline of 0-18 to 1-9.
Tyrone opened the scoring with a free from Leo Meenan and went two up with a Barry Daly point from play. Cork responded with a point from Donagh Duane as the game swung from end to end in the early stages with both teams going at each other with great vigour.
Mickey Anderson scored at one end but this was followed by a point from G Murphy for Cork. Conor Gormley scored from distance with Tyrone’s Mark Donnelly next to score. Cork hit back with two points leaving the game finely balanced with just the minimum between the two teams.

Tyrone seized control for the rest of the half and hit seven unanswered points as Barry Daly with 2, Leo Meenan 2, Stephen O’Neill 2 and another from Anderson saw the Red Hands stretch their lead.
Cork eventually reignited their challenge scoring from Duane quickly followed by two points from midfielder J O’Neill. Further scores from Meenan and S O’Neill left Tyrone in a comfortable position but Cork refused to give up and scored a goal and a point in quick succession to keep their hopes alive. Martin Taggart scored from play and S O’Neill finished the scoring for Tyrone to seal their place in the semi final of the Masters all Ireland in two weeks time.
