IRISH TV ALL IRELAND GAELIC MASTERS Round one game Cavan v Tyrone:

Butlersbridge, Wednesday 27th July 2016.

Final Score Tyrone 1-17(20) Cavan 2-13 (19)

Tyrone were pushed all the way by a determined and skilful Cavan team and can count themselves lucky to have secured the win by a fine margin.

A solid first half performance saw Tyrone lead by four at the break. They added to their lead with two quick points after half time but from  that point on Cavan dominated hitting two quick goals and a point to lead.

In an enthralling end to end game the teams found themselves level on several occasions. Tyrone were finally able to tag on a winner in the last minutes but  only after a very narrow escape. Deep into injury time Cavan engineered a last chance to salvage a draw when they were awarded a free kick but fortunately for Tyrone it tailed just wide.

New recruits Eunan Mc Anespie, Brendan Mc Laughlin, Niall O’Neill, Ryan Mc Callion , Paul Mc Gorrey, Seamus Mc Elroy and Niall Corey bolstered Tyrone’s ranks in their first official ‘Masters’ contest.
