The latest round of Division 3A fixtures this week saw wins for Urney, Tattyreagh, Omagh St Endas and Brocagh plus a hard fought draw between Errigal 3rds and high flying Castlederg.

Donaghmore hosted Urney in a game that saw the border men in total control from start to finish. Playing on the front foot Urney ran up one of their highest scores of the season with Conor Mc Daid 1-4, Josh Neeson 1-1, Rory Tinney 1-0, Conor Redstone 0-2, Ryan Henry 0-5, Jamie Mc Aleer 1-1, Danny Lynch and Kyle Henry 0-1 among the scorers for the men in green and gold. Final score Donaghmore 0-4, Urney 4-20. This was a disappointing night for Donaghmore which saw them finish with only four points between Caolan Mulgrew, Matthew Cooney, Ryan Mullan and Matthew Hammil.

Errigal Ciaran produced one of their best displays of the season as they came very close to defeating promotion chasing Castlederg. The Dunmoyle lads led at the break 1-11 to 0-4 and looked set for victory over the St Eugene’s but a stirring second half comeback from the Derg saw the game finish all square at 1-13 apiece. Seanan Canavan top scored with 0-6 for Errigal while Jack Mc Nelis (1), Tom Loughran (2), Calum Quinn (1), Robert Harper (2), Aaron Mc Kenna (1-0) and Niall Mc Cartan accounted for the Errigal scores. Top scorer Corin Mc Connell hit nine of his team’s total while Eoin Bradley (2), Blaine Lynch (1-0), Daire Corry (0-1) and Darren Traynor (0-1) were all on target for the men in red and black.

Tattyreagh took advantage of the Derg’s dropped point as they defeated Cookstown 3rds 1-16 to 0-6 having led at the break 1-7 to 0-2. Played in wet and slippery conditions Peadar Mullan and Joe Cartin led the line with 0-4 apiece while Brendan Armstrong 0-3 and David Judge 1-0 were also on target. Others to get on the scoreboard for the Tatts were Ger Mc Elholm 0-2 and 0-1 apiece from John Mc Aleer, Gareth Mimnagh and Ciaran Mullin. Cookstown scorers were Aidan Mc Elhatton 0-3, Jake Doris 0-1, Ryan Owens 0-1 and Kevin Sweeney 0-1.

Brocagh continued on their winning ways as they saw off the challenge of rivals Killyman on a final score of 0-15 to 2-12.  There was only a point between the sides at the break with the Emmetts leading 0-9 to 0-8 at the short whistle. Eamon Donnelly top scored for Killyman with 0-4 while Cathal Mc Gahan, Ronan Mc Veigh, Declan Mc Alinden abd Sean Donnelly each hit a brace. Others to hit the target for the St Mary’s with a point apiece were Enda Mc Gahan, Ryan Mc Kenna and Caomhan Mc Gahan. Ryan Canavan top scored for Brocagh with 2-1 while Mickey Hughes weighed in with 0-4. There were also two point offerings from Michael Robinson, Cathal Donnelly, and Owen Canavan with a point from Steven Canavan.

CNG hosted Omagh St Endas but came off second best to the men in white and black. Early goals from Johnny Knox and Oran O’Neill helped keep this one honest and with points from Ruairi Blee, Kieran O’Kane and two from Oran O’Neill sent the sides off at the break with OSE leading narrowly 1-8 to 2-4.Omagh were the better side after the break and took the points on a final score of 2-16 to 3-10. As usual Ben Mc Farland was on target with 0-5, while Manus Doyle (0-4), Ciaran Lagan (1-1), Ryan Mc Garvey (0-2), Daire Sally 1-0, and two points apiece from Sean Bresnahan and Eamon Mc Mahon completed the Omagh scoring.  The goal from Daire Mac Salaigh was something of a collector’s item coming as it did straight from a forty five.
