There were some high scoring games played in Junior football this weekend with neighbours Tattyreagh and Fintona Pearses hitting more than sixty points between them on Friday night. Brocagh also hit the thirty point tally as they got the better of Donaghmore 4-18 to 1-10 in their meeting. Ryan Canavan top scored for Brocagh in that one with 1-3 while Mickey Hughes was not far behind him with 0-5. Others to get among the scores for the Emmetts were Micheal Robinson 0-4,  James Mc Kiver 1-1, Paddy Canavan 1-0, Niall Cassidy 1-0, Daniel Deehan 0-2, Marc Canavan 0-2 and Colm Mc Fall 0-1. Donaghmore scorers on the night were Oisin Howell 0-2, Matthew Cooney 0-2, Blayn Mc Cluskey 0-2, Caolan Mulgrew 0-2, Cillian Dynes 0-1 and 1-1 from top scorer Ryan Mullan.

Fintona recorded a statement win over Derrytresk not just hitting the magical thirty points but possibly more impressively restricting their opponents to only three points. Aaron Mc Carney top scored with 0-10 while Fintona’s other scores came from Oran Hughes 0-3, Conor Hegarty 0-2, Conor Mc Gillion 1-7, Peter Colton 0-4, Eugene Colton 0-2 and a point apiece from Cathal Starrs and Eoghan Hegarty. On a disappointing night for the Hill their three points came from Rony O’Neill 0-2 and Odhran Hughes 0-1.

Plumbridge was the venue for a clinker of a game between Glenelly and Stewartstown. Mind you it looked more like a scene from Casualty as four different players had to leave the field injured inside the opening seven minutes. Both sides were stretched to their limits but both managed to produce a superbly entertaining game that the home side won 2-14 to 1-16 having led at the break 2-5 to 0-6. Nathan Mc Laughlin and Mark Kennedy got Glenelly’s first half goals but with Shea O’Neill in form the Harps always looked dangerous and fought back in the second half to lead with less than seven minutes remaining. The hosts showed a bit of character and dug deep to claim the points with late scores from  Harley Patton, Aodhan Mc Connell and Ronan O’Kane.  Glenelly scores came from Ronan O’Kane 0-2,, Nathan Mc Laughlin 1-0, Eamon Mc Connell 0-2, Harley Patton 0-3, Garret O’Neill 0-1, Aodhan Mc Connell 0-3, Kevin Mc Connell 0-1, Oskar O’Neill 0-1, Eoin Maguire 0-1 and Aodhan Mc Connell 0-2.  Shea O’Neill top scored for the Harps with 1-8 while Rian Biggs chipped in with 0-4.

Cookstown thirds defeated CNG by four points winning 2-12 to 2-8. The sides were tied at 1-5 apiece at the break but the Fr Rocks did more than enough in the second half to take the points. The CNG goals came from Johnny Knox and Gavin Tummons while their points were shared among Gareth Mc Dermott, Keenan Donaghey, Cahir O’Neill and Dan Houston. Cookstown scorers were Jake Doris 1-2, James Devlin 1-0, Brian Mulligan 0-3, Ryan Owens 0-2, James Mc Gahan 0-2 and Colm Bell.   0-2.

Omagh struggled for scores in the first half of their league clash  with Brackaville. The Roes reached the break leading  2-10 to 0-1. Things improved for St Endas after the break but the gap was just a bit too big to change the outcome. Brackaville scorers on the night were Jason O”Neill 0-2, Dale Mc Sorley 0-2,  Rian Mc Hugh 1-3 Ryan O;Neill 1-2, Shea Fee 0-1, Josh Henderson 1-0, and Daire Carberry 0-1. Omagh produced a strong second half with scores from Michael Corrigan 1-0, Manus Doyle 1–2, and a point each from Ciaran Lagan, Cillian Mc Crory and Ryan Mc Garvey.with Sean Bresnahan 0-1, Eamon Mc Mahon 0-1.

Killyman hosted an impressive Tattyreagh who led from the off and by half time the Tatts had opened up a 0-14 to 1-3 lead. Killyman battled as they always do but they found the Tatts a bit too hot to handle. Ryan Mc Kenna got the Killyman goal with their points shared between Cathal Mc Gahan (3), Shea Gates (3),  Eamon Donnelly and Declan Mc Alinden with a point apiece. Tattyreagh made sure they made good use of their bench and could have added further to their goals tallly hitting the post several times as they created opportunities they failed narrowly to convert. Gareth Mimnagh top scored with six points all from frees with Conor Cartin (5), Eoghan Mc Grath (4), Brendan Armstrong (4), Peadar Mullan (3), Niall Murray (2), Ronan Collins (2) and a point each from Joe Cartin, Dan Mc Gloin, Ger Mc Elholmm and Ryan Starrs .

The north Tyrone derby between Castlederg and Urney served up a very competitive and physical battle which turned out to be remarkably low scoring .Jamie Mc Aleer was the main man for Urney hitting 1-7 of his team’s 1-10 on the night. Conor Mc Daid (2) and Adrian Maxwell (1) contributed the remainder of the Urney scores. The Derg had to show a bit of character and with Eoghan Bradley and Corin Mc Connell leading away they came back from one down at the break to win 1-11 to 1-10.

Three of Eskra’s first scores inside the opening three minutes against Strabane were goals with Fionn Kelly, Eoin Mc Avoy and Johnny Hackett hitting the target. They followed those with a brace of two pointers as they looked to build a lead. However Strabane showed considerable resolve to come back and make a real game of it before it was eventually won by Eskra on a score of 4-16 to 3-16. Strabane scorers on the night were Oran White 1-3, Gary Quigg 1-3, Micky Logue 1-1, Gary Fouse 0-3,Eoin Haire 0-2, Kyle Morrison 0-2, Connor O’Hagan 0-1 and Dan Mc Haghney 0-1. Others to get among the scores for Eskra were Eoin Mc Evoy 1-6, Finn Kelly 1-3, Aaron Kelly 1-1, Peter Hughes 1-0 and Cormac Arkinson 0-3.

Drumragh had seven points to spare over Augher as their return to good form continues. Cian Murphy was scoring freely for the Sarsfields and finished the night with nine points to his name. Niall Maguire chipped in with 1-1 as the Clanabogan lads cruised to a comfortable win. Ronan Maguire (2), Aaron Montgomery (2), Benny Drumm and Barry Fitzgerald rounded off the scoring for Drumragh. Augher have found it difficult to get scores this season and so it was on Friday. Five points in the first half was a poor return having opened the scoring with the first two points of the game. Pascal Gormley (2), Odhran Mc Ginn, Jarlath Mc Namee and Ben Trainor pointed to send the. Teams ooff with Drumragh leading 1-7 to 0-5. Other scorers for Augher were Marty Mc Elhatton, Dara Kavanagh and Dara Donnelly.
