Mc Girr Bros Div 3 Wrap Up
Saturday 02.08.2025
There were wins for Drumragh, Cookstown and Strabane in Friday nights All County League fixtures. All three sides played at home with Cookstown running up the biggest tally of the night as they defeated Glenelly 6-23 to 0-4. Strabane defeated Eskra 0-22 to 0-15 while Drumragh were much too strong for a struggling Augher side.
Drumragh showed no mercy in their contest with Augher holding them to just two points in the first half . The south Tyrone side improved after the break with points from Raymond Mc Elroy, Declan Connolly, and a converted penalty from Finnbar Mc Elroy. However Drumragh were never troubled and scores from ace marksmen Daniel O’Neill and Niall Mc Carney helped ease them to a thirteen points win.
Eskra travelled to Strabane in the hope of collecting two further points in their campaign to finish the season strongly and put up a decent showing against a side looking to be part of the end of year playoffs. Conor O’Hagan, Aaron Kelly, Luke Kelly, Johnny Hackett, Cormac Hughes and Finn Kelly were among the points for the Emmetts. In an impressive showing from the Sigersons top scorer on the night was Oran Mc Grath while Haydn Mc Namee was not too far behind him.
Unbeaten Cookstown faced a very much understrength Glenelly side and were rarely troubled on their way to a 6-23 to 0-4 win over the north Tyrone side. Niall Mc Murray top scored for the Fr Rocks while Michael Mc Elhatton, Matthew Carberry, Nathan Connolly, Seamus Glackin and Luke Cullen were all among the scores for the winners. Glenelly were low in numbers and names with their scores coming from Karl Mc Cormack, Oscar O’Neill and Sean Harley.
