With the top places in the league more or less sorted out this weekend’s game  afforded team managers the chance to rest players or try something new in preparation for the championship.

Friday night saw Drumragh make the short journey across to Eskra for their clash with the Emmetts. The only goal of the game came three minutes before half time from the home team’s Johnny Hackett (1-1). Joe Mc Carroll (5), Micky Woods (5),Eoin Mc Caffrey, Aaron Kelly, Thomas Meegan, Niall Marlowe and Conor O’Hagan were on target for Eskra while Shane Devine (3). Kian Murphy (3), Martin Taggart (2), Niall Mc Carney,  Oran Devlin, Sean Mc Gale, Andy Colgan and Malachy Mc Manus were among the points for the Sarsfields.

CNG defeated Errigal Ciaran 3rds 1-12 to 0-7 at Dunmoyle. The visitors were on top from the start with good performances from Shea Browne, Ciaran Kerlin, Danny Ball and Johnny Knox as the north Tyrone side reached the break leading 0-8 to 0-3. Errigal tightened things up considerably after the break but a well taken Marc Henry goal secured the win and the points for CNG. Good scores from Conor Kerlin and Brendan Conway ensured CNG won their third game in a row, ideal preparation for the up coming championship. Errigal scorers on the day were Mick Quinn (3), Daniel Blake (2), Davy Harte and Jack Mc Nelis.
