Mc Girr Bros Quarries Division 3 Wrap Up
Saturday 26.04.2025
The 2025 All County League got underway on Friday night with the first round of Division 3A fixtures.
The first North Tyrone derby of the year saw CNG travel to Urney for their opening fixture of the season. The home side managed to bag two first half goals with one of them coming from Jamie Mc Aleer. Sean Mc Gowan added a second from the penalty spot before Ryan Devine responded for CNG when he fired to the net before the break. CNG were much improved after the restart and ran out convincing winners with Shea Browne and Robbie Conway sharing sixteen points between them.
Brocagh and Brackaville served up a high scoring game that saw the Roes heading home with the points having been pushed all the way by a talented home side. Brackaville led at the break 2-8 to 0-7 but second half goals from Barry Donnelly (2) and Mickey Hughes really brought the home side back into the game but they ran out of time losing narrowly on a final score of Brackaville 4-11 Brocagh 3-14. Brocagh scorers were Barry Donnelly 2-3, Mickey Hughes 1-5, James Mc Kiver 0-2, Aidan Dorman 0-2, and Cathal Donnelly 0-2. Brackaville’s scorers on the night were Ronan Mc Hugh 2-3, Shea Fee 0-4, Jason O’Neill 1-2, Tiernan Ruddy 1-1 and the last three points from Dale Mc Sorley.
Tattyreagh and Omagh Saint Endas 3rds met for the first time at the home of the Tatts and served up an entertaining fixture. The game ended with the home side taking the points on a 2-10 to 0-10 score line. Omagh will look on this as a learning experience for their young side having led at the break 0-8 to the Tatts 1-3. Their half time lead was due in no small measure to two fine two pointers courtesy of goalkeeper Niall Mc Crory. Omagh’s other scorers were Eamon Mc Mahon, Nathan Devlin, Ryan Mc Garvey, Manus Doyle, Ben Mc Farland and Ciaran Mc Ardle.
Tattyreagh scorers on the night were Keelan Mc Donagh 0-5, Ciaran Mc Croary & Niall Murray 1-0, Peadar Mullan & Aidan Martin 0-2, Ronan Collins 0-1. The home side could have made life a lot easier for themselves had they shown a bit more composure in front of the posts having spurned at least four excellent goal scoring chances.
Derrytresk got the new season off to a winning start when they claimed the points against neighbours Killyman. As usual Niall Gavin was among the scores with one of their three goals while Conan Slater and Keenan Donaghy also found the net for the Hill men. The game finished off 3-15 to 0-9 with Enda Mc Gahan and Shea Gates among the points for Killyman.
Errigal Ciaran defeated Donaghmore 2-11 to 1-8. Donaghmore scorers on the night were Ryan Mullan 0-1, Adam Hetherington 0-1, Joe Kelly 0-2, Marcus Mulgrew 0-2, Pat Mc Ateer 0-1, Johnny Field 1-0 and Nathan Toner 0-1.
