Eskra defeated Donaghmore Thirds in their Saturday evening fixture 3-16 to 0-10 having led at the break 2-6 to 0-7. Their goals on the day came from Cathal Arkinson (1-1), Cormac Arkinson and Conor O’Hagan. Joe Mc Carroll fired over eight points for the Emmetts while Cormac Hughes (3), Jimmy Mc Nelis, Conor O’Hagan (2) and Paul Turbitt were all on target with points. Sean Mc Caul top scored with 0-4 for the Village lads with their other scores coming from Conan MC Garvey, Dan Baird (2) and Joe Kelly.
Killeeshil have been running up some big scores of late and did the same on Friday night as they defeated Brocagh 4-21 to 1-6 having been 3-10 to 0-3 ahead at half time. Michael O’Neill was scorer in chief with 2-3 while Paul O’Neill (1-1) and Ciaran Reilly (1-0) als0 found the net. Among the points for Killeeshil were Cormac Donaghy (5), Dillon O’Neill (3), Conal Monaghan, Mark Monaghan (2), Eoin Neill (2), Conor Mc Cool (2), and one each for Packie Mc Mullan and Luke Donnelly. It was a night to forget for Brocagh with their scores coming from Brandon Mc Kiver (1-1), James Mc Kiver (0-3), Mickey Hughes (0-1) and Cathal Donaghy (0-1).
Drumquin kept up the pressure on Aghaloo at the top of the table with a convincing 1-21 to 0-6 win away to Killyman. The Tones were on top from the off and by half time they led 1-9 to 0-3. Shea Gates hit four of the Killyman total while the ever reliable Enda Mc Gahan also contributed two of his team’s points. Sean Mc Donagh top scored with 1-3 for Drumquin while Oisin Gormley and Oisin Mc Menamin shared ten points between them. Ronan Strain (3), Finnen Patterson (3), Cormac Mullin and Frankie Mc Alynn were also among the scores.
Glenelly hosted CNG in their north Tyrone derby clash and deservedly claimed the points and the bragging rights after a 1-20 to 0-12 win over their neighbours. CNG pushed Glenelly all the way in the first half and only trailed at the break 1-8 to 0-7. However Glenelly stepped it up a gear after the restart and ran out convincing eleven points winners. Lorcan Mc Cullagh (6) top scored for the victors while Ronan O’Kane (5), Garrett O’Neill (1-0), Rory Kennedy (3), Nathan Mc Laughlin (2) and Eoghan Mc Connell (2) were also on target for Glenelly. Terry Mc Caughey knocked over five of his side’s total while Brendan Conway, Ciaran Kerlin, Aaron Devine, Marc Henry and Shea Browne (3) were also among the scores.
Tattyreagh produced a stirring display before running out of gas and ideas against a handy Sigersons side that knew they were in a game right up to the final whistle. Only a point separated them 1-12 to 1-11 at the end as an understrength home side battled bravely against their highly rated opponents. Oran Mc Grath top scored for Strabane with 1-6 while Haydn Mc Namee (4), James Hughes and Gary Quigg were also among the points.
Aghaloo remain unbeaten at the top of the table having travelled across the county to the Donegal border where they locked horns with Urney St Columba’s. The home side have been struggling for points so far this season and they found their most recent opponents no less difficult. Tiernan Donnelly top scored for Aghaloo with 0-8 while Stewart Douglas bagged 0-3 and Conor Mullen hit the net for his team’s only goal of the game as they won on a score of 1-15 to 0-8. Jamie Mc Aleer (0-2), Ronan Lafferty (0-1), Danny Doherty (0-2) and Kyle Henry were among the points for Urney.
An understrength Augher side ran out of ideas and stamina with their lack of numbers proving crucial enabling Castlederg to take the win and the points. Castlederg started brightly with a goal from Ben Harper in their first attack. The visitors led 1-3 to 0-1 after 15 minutes with points from Caolan Harvey, Daire Corry and Ben Harper while Finbarr Mc Elroy responded for Augher. The home side fought their way back and took the lead 1-4 to 1-3 with five minutes of the first half left. Tiernan Mc Elroy, Finbarr Mc Elroy and Ciaran Treanor hit points while Tiernan Mc Elroy also found the net. Ciaran Treanor added a further point just after Paddy Porter and Ben Harper pointed to leave it level at half time 1-5 each. The Derg took control of the first 15 minutes of the second half to lead 1 -10 to 1-5 Augher’s Ronan Mc Elroy hit the net for his team’s second goal with 20 minutes remaining but the Derg tagged on three further points to seal the win on a final score of Castlederg 1-15 Augher 2-6.
