There were two remaining Division Three fixtures played on Thursday evening which resulted in wins for Errigal Thirds over Killyman and Augher over Donaghmore.
Killyman started well against Errigal scoring after fifteen seconds but Errigal’s response was more than effective with a Ruairi O’Sullivan goal from the resultant kick out to put Errigal ahead. Errigal’s high press forced a Killyman turn over and again O Sullivan added a point.
Errigal continued to press with points from Mellon and Donaghy before they hit their second goal when O’Sullivan again found the net to leave the score at half time Errigal 2-5 killyman 0-3.
The second half began with another Sullivan point before Colm Mellon added three points in a row. Killyman replied with a brace of converted frees but there was no let up from Errigal as scores from Connor McAleer, Pierce Mullin and Kevin Hughes stretched their lead. The last few mins of the game saw O’Sullivan complete his hat trick as he finished with 3-3 on the night.
Errigal scorers: Ruairi O’Sullivan 3-3, Colm Mellon 0-4, 0-1 apiece from Pierce Mullin, Shane Donaghy, Kevin Hughes and Connor Mc Aleer.
Killyman scorers: Shea Gates 0-2, Gary Hamill, Enda Mc Gahan and Ronan Mc Veigh 0-1 each
Augher had four points to spare against Donaghmore Thirds in their game with Darragh Kavanagh returning to scoring form and finishing the match with 0-6. Late goals from Jarlath Mc Namee and Tiernan Mc Elroy were enough to secure the victory and take the points.
Final score: Augher 2-9, Donaghmore 2-5
