Ronan McGuckin has been named as Errigal Ciaran’s new manager. The former Ballinderry star, who won an All Ireland club medal with the Shamrocks in 2002, takes over from new Fermanagh boss Peter Canavan. Canavan guided his home club to back to back Division One titles in 2009 and 2010 during his three years at the helm. It’s the second time that McGuckin has managed a Tyrone club as last year he helped guide Derrylaughan to the championship semi finals where they lost out to Parish neighbours Clonoe. No doubt Ronan would settle for the same success that his Ballinderry club mate Paul McIvor enjoyed in 2011 when he guided Dromore to the double in Tyrone.
