Mellon Rescues Point For Pearses

Niall Mellon came to Fintona’s rescue with an injury time point as the Pearses salvaged a draw at home to Brackaville on Wednesday evening. The visitors led 0-6 to 0-4 at the break with Cahir McGuinness, Gary Ferguson, Mark Donnelly and Scott Gray among the points for their respective sides. The Pearses took the lead when Niall Donnelly converted an early second half penalty and they added points from Cian Hamilton and Gray. They then had a man sent off and Brackaville hit back to take the lead with efforts from Sean Corr, Martin Gervin, Ferguson and Tiarnan McGlinchey until that late Mellon equaliser as it finished 1-10 to 0-13.
