Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has been dealt a blow with the news that goalkeeper Mickey O’Neill has picked up a knee injury and will not be available for Saturday afternoon’s qualifier clash with Meath.

While the news comes as a blow to the Tyrone team it is an even bigger blow to the keeper himself who has been outstanding since he took over in goals following an injury to Niall Morgan. The Clonoe stopper has waited patiently for his opportunity and has performed exceptionally well since he became number one. However just when it appeared he was set for an extended run between the posts a cartilage injury means he could be out for a while. His absence opens the door for Under 21 keeper Sean Fox who now comes in as back up to Morgan for the All Ireland Qualifier at Healy Park.

Conor Meyler

Another player who will miss Saturday’s game is Omagh St Enda’s man Conor Meyler. The flame haired utility man played no part in the defeat of Limerick last day out due to injury. However while he has returned to full fitness for this weekend’s games he has prior arrangements made and will not be part of the panel for the game against Meath.
