Ulster Minor Camogie Semi-Final 2025: Tyrone vs Cavan

The Tyrone Minor team kicked off their competitive season with a thrilling encounter against Cavan in the Ulster Shield semi-final, played on the 3G pitch at MUSA. Featuring a blend of young and experienced players, the Tyrone side showed resilience and skill throughout the match.

Emer Cunningham opened the scoring for Tyrone with a well-taken goal, but Cavan quickly responded, levelling the game shortly after. Captain Niamh McElduff and Catherine Moohan, who was solid on set-pieces, each added to the scoreboard, helping Tyrone to a four-point advantage. However, Cavan proved dangerous and, despite strong defensive performances from Una McCrory and Clara Doherty, they struck back with two quick goals and a point, taking control of the match. Moohan’s goal then brought Tyrone back into contention, but Cavan’s Bronagh Tully immediately responded with one of her own. By the end of the first half the sides were tied.

Half-time Score: Tyrone 2-8, Cavan 4-2

The second half began with Cunningham once again on target, but Cavan’s fifth and final goal of the game pushed Tyrone onto the back foot. In a dramatic turn of events, Tyrone managed to scramble the ball into the net, with Clare McKee appearing to be the scorer. This goal injected new life into the home team, and a further point gave Tyrone a slight advantage.

Cavan responded with three consecutive points to level the match once more but Tyrone finished with a flourish. Scoring four unanswered points, they sealed the victory and secured a place in the Ulster final where they will face Donegal.
