Tyrone Minor Hurlers Come Up Short
Tyrone hosted Sligo in their Celtic Challenge game at Fintona on Saturday afternoon. They trailed by three points at half time 0-9 to 0-6 but produced a much improved second half before losing narrowly on a final score of 0-17 to 1-12. Conor Doherty, Eoghan Mullin and Corey Bell were among the scores in the opening half when the young Red Hands enjoyed the assistance of a strong breeze.
The home side were much improved after the break and really took the game to their opponents. Ayaz Taggart, Daithi Colton, Corey Bell and Liam Griffith hit points for Tyrone while Omagh player Fionn Corry struck for his team’s goal. Unfortunately their efforts fell short and Sligo headed home with the points.
