Minor Hurlers Win Again
Friday 17.04.2015
Tyrone Minor Hurlers defeated Monaghan at Garvaghey on Friday night but were pushed all the way following a fine second half comeback by the Farney lads.
The Red Hands seemed set for victory having reached the break leading 1-13 to to 1-4 in spite of having played against the wind. A super goal in the 20th minute from John Campbell appeared to confirm the home side’s superiority. Lorcan Devlin, Brannon Molloy, Ciaran Mc Nulty and Peadar Daly were others to find the target in a dominant first half display.
Monaghan looked a beaten team in that first half but showed considerable grit and determination to reduce the gap to three points with five minutes of the second period remaining. Fortunately for Tyrone Peadar Daly and Brannon Molloy combined to seal the win with a well crafted score deep in injury time.
That left the result Tyrone 1-18, Monaghan 3-8.
