Castlederg

On a night when many games fell foul to the weather Killeeshil defeated Castlederg 1-13 to 2-5. Castlederg started the first half strongly and plundered two goals in the opening stages. Although Killeeshil were working hard for each other and were playing well defensively with Aine McCrory and Niamh Canning to the fore, they struggled for scores as the Derg reached half time leading by three.

Killeeshil came out in the second half like a new team with players like Cara McCrory, Zara Fearon and CaraMc Cobrey really stepping up for the hoops. They outscored their opponents by ten points to two in the second period to claim their second win of the season.

The Sarsfields lost out to Macartans on a scoreline of Drumragh 3-8 St Macartan’s 4-10. This was quite a turn around for Macs who trailed at the break 3-4 to 0-6 with a fabulous Rihanna Mullin goal the highlight of the first half.

Drumragh scorers: Rihanna Mullin 1-4, Caoimhe McCarron 1-2, Rihanna Barrett 0-1, Jemma Barrett 1-1.

Very good first half from Drumragh with the highlight a brilliant individual goal from Rihanna Mullin. Grace McCusker, Lily O’Kane and Caitlin McCarron had good games in the defence, Mia Feeney did well at midfield and Jemma Barrett, Rihanna Mullin and Rihanna Barrett kicked some great scores in the forward line.

Aghyaran 1-5 v CNG 0-3

A low scoring game played in awful conditions saw the halftime score 4pts to 2pts to Aghyaran with Cara Byrne scoring all points for the home side. Conditions did not improve after the break but Aghyaran pounced for the only goal of the game from

Kelsie McGuigan who also added a point to her score sheet with CNG just getting the one score. Aghyaran goalkeeper & all their five backs had an outstanding match keeping the CNG forwards on the back foot.
