Tyrone Minors suffered defeat at Celtic Park this afternoon when they lost to Derry in round two of the Ulster Minor League. Mickey Donnelly’s team had been doing reasonably well and were trailing by only one point ten minutes into the second half when Derry were awarded a fortuitous penalty. The resultant goal left four points between the side and the home side kicked on strongly after that to record a fine 2-15 to 1-9 victory over their great rivals. Ryan Mayse was the standout player on the field scoring 1-5 for his team while second half substitute Conor Mallon played very well when introduced into the game.

Next up for Tyrone is a Donegal side now playing at full strength with the return of their vocational schools players. That match is scheduled to take place nest Saturday in Healy Park Omagh. Mickey Donnelly will be hoping to see his side bounce back from this defeat to Derry.
