Minor League Title For Errigal

Errigal Ciaran minors came back from being eight points down after fifteen minutes on Wednesday evening to claim the Dvision One Minor League defeating Ardboe 3-18 to 1-15.
Luke Muldoon opened the scoring for the loughshore lads with a first minute two pointer and following scores by Ruairi O’Neill, Brogan Devlin, Oran Coleman and Conan Doris Ardboe looked well on top. Indeed the gap could ave been greater but for a fine penalty save by Errigal goalkeeper Peadar Kelly. Points from Conan Canavan gave Errigal hope but a second Ardboe penalty was converted by Big Ruairi O’Neill and the loughshore side moved eight points clear.
Errigal eventually shook off their lethargy and a two pointer from Aodhan Quinn followed by a Ronan Fleming goal and a brace of points from James Mc Anenly left a single point between the sides with Ardboe still leading 1-7 to 1-6.
A point each from Ciaran Mc Keown and Odhran Coleman stretched the Ardboe lead to three before Errigal reduced the deficit once more after a two pointer from boot of Conan Canavan. With time running out Ardboe moved one ahead following a Jamie Devlin effort that sent the teams off at the break with the score reading 1-11 to 1-10 in favour of Ardboe.
The second half began with a point from Dylan Devlin but Dan Loughran replied with a goal and a point for Errigal as the Dunmoyle lads took the lead for the first time. Ruairi O’Neill fired one over for Ardboe but Errigal’s response led to his team’s third goal from centre back Michael Mullin.
Errigal continued to dominate as Ardboe ran out of ideas and steam. Further points from Conan Canavan, Ronan Fleming and Aodhan Quinn saw Errigal pull away to win 3-18 t0 1-5.Ardboe finished the contest with two points from Luke Muldoon.
