Stewartstown made it two wins out of two in this season’s grade one minor league when they had a superb 2-5 to 1-6 win away to neighbours Coalisland. Macaulay Quinn was a threat for the Harps throughout hitting 2-2 with Callan Burke, Tiarnan Rushe and Dylan McElhatton others to play well too with Darren Devlin [2], Conor Quinn and John Lee their other marksmen. The Fianna had a second half to forget as they only managed to score a single point in windy conditions. Cathaoir Quinn [1-1], Gerard Woods [3], Cormac O’Hagan and Shea Oliver were their scorers on the day.

Ardboe bounced back from an opening day defeat with an emphatic 5-15 to 2-6 victory away to Naomh Mhuire. Caolan Mallaghan 3-1, Michael Lynn 0-3, Michael O’Neill 1-0, Nathan Bell 1-0, Barry Devlin 0-2, David Mulgrew 0-2, Aidan O’Neill 0-2, Ryan Sheehy 0-1, Oisin Devlin 0-1, Eddie Sheehy 0-1, Manus Teague 0-1, Danny Brady 0-1 were the Rossas’ scorers. Best for the winners on the day were Danny Brady, Paddy Sheehy, Aidan O’Neill, Oisin Devlin, Manus Teague, Ryan Sheehy, Barry Devlin, Caolan Mallaghan and Nathan Bell.

Cappagh made the short trip to play Loughmacrory and they came home with the two points after winning 2-6 to 0-7 in desperate weather conditions. Matty McCloy top scored for the winners with Matty Sweeney excellent in defence in a very strong team performance. Frank Burns was the stand out player for Pomeroy as they beat Eglish 3-14 to 1-7 at Plunkett Park. Joe McVeigh, Mark Donnelly and Joe McConnell were among the scorers for the St.Patricks. Derrylaughan were 2-9 to 1-4 winners at Brackaville with Brian Kennedy, Conor McCabe and Stephen McGrath all playing well for the Kevin Barrys. Aidan McSorley hit 1-4, Tiernan McNamee got 1-2, Michael Corless got a goal with Patrick Hargan and Naomhan McNamee getting a point each as Newtownstewart drew with Gael Naomh Padraig 3-8 to 1-14.

Galbally made the trip to Dromore on Sunday afternoon and came away with a win in a low scoring encounter. Mark Quinn, Enda McGarrity, Patrick Quinn, Christopher Morris and Colin Campbell were among the points for the Pearses as it finished 0-8 to 0-4. Trillick made it two wins out of two when they defeated neighbours Fintona 1-12 to 1-7 on their travels. Daire Gallagher got the St.Macartans’ goal with Lee Brennan, Daire Gallagher and Peter Gallagher among their points. Tommy McGrath was chief marksman for the Pearses.

Omagh travelled to play Owen Roes and they were made to work hard for their narrow 3-11 to 2-11 victory. It was a wet and windy afternoon and the game was a competitive affair throughout. The contest ebbed and flowed for the opening twenty minutes with scores from Pauric Murphy, Diarmuid O’Doherty, Joe Colton, Mark McBride and Thomas Clarke for the St.Endas with Cathal McShane prominent for the hosts. Kevin Cairns and wing back Conal McCormack also had points for Owen Roes before a Ronan McNulty goal put the home side 1-5 to 0-6 in front at halftime. Omagh began the second half with 1-2 without reply from Colton with McShane responding with a brace of frees. Danny Mullan got another Omagh goal with Clarke, O’Doherty, Jude Campbell, Caolan Gillespie and Rion McKenna all getting points. McShane took his personal tally to eight points with Michael Dooher getting a goal late on but Omagh held on for victory.
