Minor League Wrap Up

The latest round of minor league fixtures took place on Wednesday night although there were a number of games postponed due to the weather conditions. County champions Ardboe and Pomeroy played out an entertaining draw. Michael Lynn [1-1], David Mulgrew [4], Barry Devlin [2], Kevin Coney [2], Michael O’Neill [2], Oisin Devlin [2], Aidan O’Neill [2], Ryan Sheehy [1] and Caolan Mallaghan [1] were the scorers for the Rossas with Paddy Sheehy, Coney, Manus Teague, Mulgrew, Mallaghan, Lynn, Oisin Devlin, Aidan O’Neill and Michael O’Neill all playing well for them. Coalisland defeated Eglish 2-9 to 1-6. Gerard Quinn [1-2], Sean Corr [4], Shea Oliver [1-0], Kyle Proctor [2] and Cormac O’Hagan [1] were the Fianna scorers on a night when Conal Lyons, Michael McKernan, Sean Corr, Nathan Kerr and Gerard Quinn all played well for the winners. Joe McVeigh hit 1-2 for Eglish with Rory Goodfellow notching a trio of points with Paul Mason and Sean Muldoon both playing well for the St.Patricks.

Galbally defeated Gael Naomh Padraig at Father Hackett Park. Enda McGarrity scored two goals and a number of points for the Pearses with Ronan Nugent and Christopher Morris also finding the net. Marc McConnell converted two penalties for the Augher/Clogher combination with Ciaran Treanor notching 1-2 as well. Dromore edged out Greencastle 2-9 to 2-8. The St.Patricks led 1-7 to 1-2 at the break but the St.Dympnas managed to turn things around with Peter Teague scoring a winning goal from a free a minute into injury time at the end of the game. Teague finished with 1-8 to his name, Aidan McGrath got their other goal with Declan McNulty scoring their other point. Sean Fox, Mel McCullagh, Peter Fox and Aidan Clarke were among the scorers for the St.Patricks with Michael Francis McKenna playing well at full back for them. Fintona also had the minimum to spare over Newtownstewart; 1-12 to 1-11 the final score line. Aidan McSorley and Tiernan McNamee grabbed four points each for the St.Eugenes; Ciaran Duncan scored their goal and Michael Coreless [2] and Niall Mayse [1] got their other scores.
Aghyaran had a convincing win over their north Tyrone rivals Clan na Gael with some quality scores from Eoin Byrne, Oisin Mc Hugh, Brian Penrose, Ronan Mc Hugh, Sean Dolan, Caolan Gormley and Caolan Mc Garvey.
