The second round of fixtures in the club minor league took place on Saturday although there were a few games brought forward to earlier in the week owing to Omagh CBS playing in the MacRory Cup Final. On Monday night at Healy Park Omagh made it two wins out of two when they finished strongly to hold off the challenge of Carrickmore. On the same night County champions Ardboe got off the mark when they had the minimum to spare over Clonoe at Coney Park, 0-14 to 1-10 the final score line. Twenty four hours later Galbally picked up their first points when they defeated Errigal Ciaran 2-14 to 1-12 at Pearse Park. Daniel Kerr and Patrick Quinn got the goals for the home side with Enda McGarrity, Mark Quinn and Ciaran Corrigan among their points. Pauric McAnenly led the way in the scoring stakes for the visitors with Shea O’Neill also on target. On the same night Greencastle also picked up their first points when they beat Cappagh at home.

 

Edendork defeated Eglish 1-12 to 2-8 with Paul Donaghy landing an impressive eight points, Lorcan Devlin getting their goal and Odhran Donnelly [2], Conor O’Rourke and Padraig Mallon their other scorers. Moy got the better of Donaghmore on a 5-9 to 2-10 score line. Ryan Coleman top scored for the winners with 2-2 to his name, Francie Kelly and Rory Magee both found the net as well as scoring a couple of points each, Patrick Lavery also got a goal while Declan Conroy got a couple of points. Turlough Kelly, Jack Campbell, Patrick Mackle and Jordan Conroy all played well for the winners. Best for Donaghmore on the night were Keelan Gillen, Ryan Daly and Eoghan McLoughlin in defence, Matty McIlvenna in midfield and Blane McCluskey [2], Sean McCaul [2-2] and Tiernan Drayne [5] up front.

 

Cookstown beat neighbours Kildress 4-6 to 0-8. D Teague [1-5], M Hetherington [2-0], C O’Neill [1-0] and C McNicholl [0-1] were the Father Rocks scorers, Marty Loughran the best player on the night for the Wolfe Tones. Moortown made it three wins out of three after beating Clonoe 2-16 to 4-8. Eoin Teague [2-2], Fintan McClure [5], Ryan Morrow [1-1] and defender Tyler Devlin [1-0] were the O’Rahillys scorers. Derrylaughan made home advantage count against Killeeshil as they emerged comfortable 2-19 to 1-7 winners. Paul Donnelly [2-1], Tomas Carney [7], James Donnelly [4], Caolan Hughes [2], Brian Kennedy [2], Sean Ciao Corr, Shane Crew and Aidan Gervin were the marksmen for the Kevin Barrys in a good all round team display. Killeeshil had good displays from keeper J Steen, defenders M Doyle, G Gallagher and J Murray, Conal Monaghan [3] in midfield and P Donaghy, C Devlin and L Hughes [1-0] up front.

 

Rock were 4-9 to 2-10 winners over Omagh “B”. Rock played against a strong wind in the first half but they made a great start with Enda Mallon scoring a goal in the first attack of the game. Other scorers on the day for the winners were Aaron Hughes [1-0], Garret McVeigh [1-0], Martin Corrigan [1-3], Padraig Ward [4], Adrian Barrow [1] and Ronan McKernan [1] with Cormac O’Neill outstanding at corner back. Dungannon saw off the challenge of Aghaloo with the help of two goals from Cianan Fox and one each from Corin Kelly and Aidan O’Brien as it finished 4-13 to 2-7.
