The latest round of fixtures in the minor leagues in all three grades took place on Sunday afternoon. Reigning County champions Ardboe played host to Coalisland at Coney Park and they recorded a good 2-15 to 2-8 victory. Caolan Mallaghan [1-3], David Mulgrew [0-4], Nathan Bell [0-3], Tiarnach Teague [1-0], Michael O’Neill [0-2], Paddy Sheehy [0-2] and Aidan O’Neill [0-1] were the scorers for the Rossas on a day when they had good performances from Ronan Cassidy, Manus Teague, Nathan Bell, Mallaghan, Michael O’Neill, Sheehy and Mulgrew.

 

Clonoe had a comfortable 2-18 to 2-4 win over Pomeroy. It was a superb all round team performance from the O’Rahillys following a few indifferent displays. Eoin Teague and Ryan Morrow caused havoc in the full forward line hitting 2-10 between them while Fintan McClure and Shane Donnelly controlled the midfield area. Defending grade one league champions Stewartstown picked up their first win of the current campaign when they ended the unbeaten record of Moortown. Darren Devlin [4], Macaulay Quinn [1-1], Callan Burke [1-1], Shay Burke [1], Tiernan Rush [1] and Shay Devlin [1] were the Harps scorers with Fergal O’Neill, Nathan McNally, Darren Devlin, Quinn, Shay Devlin and Callan Burke all playing well for them. Tiernan Corr, Ronan McGuigan, Christopher McGuigan and Shaun Conway played well for the St.Malachys as it finished 2-9 to 0-10.

 

Galbally made it back to back wins when they edged past neighbours Carrickmore on a 0-14 to 1-9 scoreline. The St.Colmcilles led by four points at the break thanks to points from Aidan Fullerton and Conan McElduff and a Connor Loughran goal, Enda McGarrity and Patrick Quinn on target for the Pearses. In the third quarter Carrickmore moved six clear thanks to a number of Fullerton points before the hosts hit back. John Hanna, Patrick Quinn, Daniel Kerr, Colin Campbell and Ciaran Corrigan all supplied points to give them a slender win.

 

Dungannon were emphatic winners over Edendork in a derby encounter. Conn Kilpatrick hit 2-4 for the St.Malachys with Paul Donaghy their other scorer as it finished 4-12 to 2-5. Man of the match for the Clarkes was Dailigh Jones while Cainan Fox bagged a brace of goals and team captain Barry Corrigan led by example. Donaghmore had the minimum to spare over Kildress in what was a tight game the whole way through. Caolan Mulgrew [4], Conor Hasson [2] and Brannon Molloy were the St.Patricks marksmen with Matty McIlvanna and Blaine McCluskey working hard in midfield and Keelan Gillan, Ciaran Cush and Aidan Quinn all playing well in defence.  Enda McAleer [3], Darren O’Kane [2], Stephen Loughran and Darragh Loughran were the marksmen for the Wolfe Tones with Shane McNally, Aaron Loughran and Ryan McMenamin their best players as it finished 0-8 to 0-7.

 

Beragh turned on the style to secure a comprehensive win over Urney. Johnny Woods and Aaron Owens dominated midfield for the Red Knights scoring 1-6 between them. Jonah Lafferty scored 2-3 for the St.Columbas while Daryl and Connor Maxwell both played well for them.  Eglish were also in fine form as they accounted for Cookstown 4-18 to 2-5 with Kevin Muldoon, James Murtagh, Joe McVeigh and Paul Mason all playing well for them. The key spell in the game came in the first half as they winners outscored their opponents 3-5 to 0-1 inside ten minutes. Aidan Doyle scored one of the Father Rocks’ goals from the penalty spot. Tattyreagh accounted for Brackaville on a 2-19 to 2-4 scoreline. Joe Cartin [7], Eoghan Murray [1-1], Johnny Harkin [4], James Darcy [3], John McAleer [1-0], Peadar Mullan [2], Brian Callaghan and Niall McDonagh were the scorers for the winners with Niall Murray having a superb game in defence.

 

Moy were another side in fine scoring form as they picked up two league points at the expense of Aghaloo. Ryan Coleman and Rory Magee grabbed two goals each with Philip Mallon and Chris O’Neill also finding the net with Declan Conroy [7], Callum Fleming, Michael Morgan and Jack Campbell also on target. Errigal Ciaran defeated Greencastle 5-10 to 3-9 with Pauric McAnenly hitting an impressive 2-7 with Daniel Blake, Packie O’Neill and Niall Molloy also finding the net and Ben McDonald and Eoin McNeilis supplying points. McAnenly, McDonald, Eoin Kelly and Plunkett Donnelly were best on the day for the Dunmoyle based lads. Peter Teague [2], Andrew McGrath and Malachy McLaughlin got the Dromore goals as they held off a spirited Owen Roes comeback to win 4-10 to 3-11. Ryan McAleer, Ryan Devine and Philip Haughey got the goals for an Owen Roes side who trailed by eleven points in the early stages of the second half.

 

Drumragh turned on the style in the second half to record a comfortable win at home to Drumquin. Eamon Rea top scored for the Sarsfields with James Broderick and Ciaran McCann both playing well in defence for them. Newtownstewart enjoyed a narrow 2-12 to 3-6 win over Loughmacrory. Conor Traynor [2-0], Aidan McSorley [5], Tiernan McNamee [3], Michael Coreless, Patrick Hargan, Naomhan McNamee and Gary Duffy were the scorers for the St.Eugenes with Duffy, Brandon O’Goan, McSorley, Traynor and McNamee their best performers on the day. Fintona defeated Rock 3-13 to 3-1. Rock started the game with a goal from Garrett McVeigh but Fintona responded to lead 0-7 to 1-1 at the break. A brilliant goal from Conor Barrow brought the teams level but that was as good as it got for the St.Patricks as Fintona ran out convincing winners. Cormac O’Neill, Conor Barrow and Adrian Barrow were Rock’s best performers on the day. J Deazley [2] and Marius Monaghan were the Pearses goal scorers with C Donnelly, Mark McGlinn and Sonny McDonagh among their points. Derrylaughan made home advantage count against Omagh “B” as they eased to victory. Paul Donnelly [1-6], Tomas Carney [1-5], Brian Kennedy [1-3], James Donnelly [3], Colm Rooney [1-0] Caolan Hughes [2], Niall McCann, Caolan Gordon, Shane Crew and Caolan Corr were the Kevin Barrys scorers in a good all round team performance.
