Minor Season Reaching Business End Of Things

Thursday 29.06.2017
Team Talk Mag

We are reaching the business end of things in all four grades of the club minor championships and leagues. In grade one the championship semi-final line up was completed on Wednesday night when Eglish, Errigal Ciaran, Cappagh and Killeeshil recorded wins over Kildress, Dungannon, Loughmacrory and Moortown respectively. The finalists in the grade one league will be known after this weekend with Galbally taking on Errigal Ciaran and Dungannon and Carrickmore going head to head.

In the grade two championship quarter finals Clonoe edged out neighbours Coalisland, Moy grabbed five goals in their home win over Drumragh, Newtownstewart had three points to spare over Trillick and Donaghmore won away to neighbours Rock. Three of those winning sides are in contention for a possible double but for at least one of them that will end this weekend. That is because the league semi-final pairs Donaghmore against Newtownstewart while Moy take on Trillick in the other last four clash.

In grade three Beragh proved too powerful for Brackaville while in grade four the championship final will be between Aghaloo and Derrytresk after they overcame Killyman and Fintona respectively. This weekend Beragh will hope to keep their double hopes alive when they take on Brocagh in the league semi-final while the first silverware of the season at minor level will be decided on Saturday when Derrytresk and Killyman meet in the grade four league decider.
