Loughmacrory recovered from their opening league defeat with a deserved one point win over Strabane tonight on a score line of 2-7 to 1-9. The home side had to play without their star midfielder Niall Donaghy as the county minor was unable to play due to ill health. His team mates did not let him down though and with Benny Donaghy in great form in midfield the Loch lads produced a good performance to overcome The Sigersons. First half goals from Niall Grimes and Conor Mc Elduff gave Loughmacrory a lead which they managed to maintain. Mark Grimes and Owen Mullan were others to catch the eye as the home side got their first points of the campaign. Strabane will feel they could have got something from this game even though they trailed by six points at the break. Good second half displays from Martin Mongan, SeDoherty, Peter Roarty and Liam Mc Gillian just fell short of snatching a draw for The Sigersons.

Drumragh had a great win away to Galbally tonight and are continuing to show progress at this level. Tommy Murphy was top scorer for the Sarsfields in their 2-11 t0 0-9 win as he rattled up 1-6 for his side. He was well supported by Paddy Roche 1-0, Sean Mc Gale 0-2, and Andrew Maguire 0-1 while Benny Drumm also put in a top quality sixty minutes for the winners.

Killyclogher made it two wins out of two games with a 3-14 to 2-8 win away to Newtownstewart. The St Mary’s were behind by a point at half time trailing 2-6 to 2-5 as Ryan Mayse caused all sorts of problems for the Killyclogher defence. Gabhan Sludden switched onto Mayse in the second half and the county minor’s influence on the game was greatly reduced. Mark Bradley0-6 and Conal Mc Cann 1-3 top scored for their side whose other scores came from Mattie Mc Cloy 1-0, Stevie Kelly 1-0, Tiernan Cox 0-3 and a point each from Eoin Fox and James O’Reilly.

Brackaville took on Omagh and won 4-15 to 3-7. Top scorers for Omagh were Coistin Mallon with 1-3 and Michael Doherty 1-2. There were fine performances in defence from Aaron Maguire, Michael Mc Menamin, Owen Mc Grath, Johnny Mc Caughey, Shane Tierney and John Mc Dermott.

Rock hosted Derrylaughan in a high scoring game and earned a well deserved win. Aidan Mc Garrity top scored for the home side in a man of the match performance with 11 points and was assisted in the scoring stakes by K Mallon 0-2, D Carroll, T Mc Goldrick and G Mc Veigh 0-1 each. Enda Mallon had a great game in goals and produced several fine stops for his side. Mc Williams was solid at full back and was ably assisted in defence by Litter, Ward, Mc Creesh and O’Neill while up front Cummings, O’Neill, Mallon and Mc Goldrick stood out for the winners.
