There were mixed fortunes for Tyrone schools in the latest round of games in the Danske Bank MacRory Cup. Omagh CBS opened their campaign in style with an emphatic 2-12 to 0-5 win over St.Ronan’s Lurgan in Augher on Tuesday afternoon. Aidan Fullerton gave them the perfect start with a goal straight from the throw in and Ciaran Daly followed up with another major with only two minutes gone on the clock. After that there was only ever going to be one winner with Fullerton, Conor McGillion, Eoin Montgomery, Sean O’Donnell and Ronan Maguire all tagging on points as they got off the mark with plenty to spare.

Holy Trinity Cookstown on the other hand were unlucky to lose out to St.Pats Maghera at Paddy Cullen Park. It was a cracking game throughout and Holy Trinity can count themselves very unlucky not to have taken anything from it. Shea Quinn weighed in with 2-2 while Aodhan O’Loughlin gave them a perfect start with an early goal.  Eunan O’Neill, Peter McGurk, Blaine Ryan and Ben Donnelly all supplied points for Holy Trinity while Caolan McLaughlin almost snatched a share off the spoils for them right at the end only to be denied by Maghera keeper Zach Scullion as it finished 2-13 to 3-7.
