With the opening game in defence of their Ulster title against Monaghan just three weeks away there was mixed news on the injury front for the Red Hands after the latest round of league fixtures within the county.

Moy duo Philip Jordan and Sean Cavanagh both went off injured as their side defeated Cookstown by a point in a contest that saw three players straight red carded including county attacker Owen Mulligan. Jordan picked up a knock to the leg while Cavanagh hurt an elbow although it’s not thought that both are serious injuries.

There was further bad news for Mickey Harte after the Eskra v Newtownstewart game when it emerged that Pascal Mc Connell suffered a recurrence of the leg injury that kept him out of the last two league matches for his club. The big goalkeeper appeared to pull his quad muscle when kicking out the ball and left the field in considerable discomfort.

On the plus side of things team captain Brian Dooher returned to action for his club today after suspension to get much needed game time under his belt.
