Tyrone Colleges Holy Trinity Cookstown and St Ciaran’s Ballygawley had mixed fortunes in today’s Markey Cup games. The Cookstown boys enjoyed a very satisfying win over old rivals St Malachy’s Castlewellan at the Armagh College grounds after a good all round team display ensured victory. A goal from Danny Mc Nulty mid way through the first half put them on their way and with Barry Potter, Decky Mc Clure and Conor Mc Aleer all adding points they made it three wins from three outings and now top their group.

Unfortunately St Ciaran’s found themselves on the wrong side of the result when they lost out this morning against Newry Tech today. This latest defeat means that St Ciaran’s face a real uphill battle if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the playoff stages of the competition.
