The Tyrone Ladies County Board has ratified the appointment of a new
senior team manager. Former Fermanagh minor and Augher manager Gerry
Moane has taken over the role from Martina Dillon and will be joined
by two of last year’s management team, assistant manager Aidan Connolly
and trainer Barry Grimes. The complete make up of Moane’s backroom team
is still to be finalised but he plans to hit the ground running ahead
of the Dowd Cup in January and the National League.
The current squad started back to conditioning training ahead of the
appointment but the new man in charge has set out his stall.
“We have already and will continue to talk to a host of potential
players in the next couple of days. We intend to get the players back
out as a unit and we as a management team have set targets. We will
all sit down and put in place a plan, I know the ambitions of the
players and the county board are matched. We all have to work
together”
The County Board also ratified the appointments of management teams
for all age groups at the December meeting at St Endas. The meeting
attended by Ladies President Pat Quill and Ulster President Hugh
Devenny also marked the 20th anniversary of ladies football in Tyrone.
